Pocket SCADA

Product Overview

View and interact with your SCADA system via any standard web browser.

Astec has put together a brief demonstration of a Pocket SCADA solution. Use the link below to open the dedicated website. The site is connected to a live GE Fanuc iFIX 4.0 SCADA server and a GE Fanuc iHistorian 3.1.

A demonstration is available which is targeted at the PocketPC user (Windows Mobile 6 or similar operating system), hence the pages have been kept as small and simple as possible. Additional pages have been added under a 'windows' menu to demonstrate the type of functionality  that is available from a standard windows browser such as internet explorer 6 or 7.

Product Features
  • The PocketSCADA application consists of the following components:

    • iFIX SCADA Server or Client with the Portal component installed
    • iHistorian Server
    • Standard web server to host the web application (eg Microsoft's IIS6 on 2003 Server)
  • Requirements
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server 6 or higher.

  • A mobile phone running Windows Mobile 6 operating system or with suitable browser installed.

  • Applications

The Pocket SCADA application can reduce the time to respond to critical plant conditions by making SCADA data and simple mimics available in real-time, from any location where a mobile data connection can be obtained. This can have a significant advantage for customers who have remote sites or sites covering large geographic areas as operators do not need access to a HMI or SCADA screen to view process data. The product is not intended to replace the functionality of an existing HMI or SCADA system, instead it can provide a limited amount of data and graphics to enable issues to be quickly investigated and corrective action to be taken.
