Web Services
Web services are what the iFIX Developer Portal is designed to provide. All services are invoked using the HTTP-GET protocol by any software or system accessing the portal. Weather it is the internal HTML web server for browser use, MS Excel, a web server or any other system; the approach is simple. Any system wishing to invoke any of the methods will simply send the appropriate URL (or web address) to the portal. The URL contains references to the method and properties it wishes to retrieve data from. The Portal will in return, hear the request and return the appropriate data to the requesting client based on the parameters in the URL request.
